“If you ever come to the markets, you’ll know Lothar right away,” says his wife, June. “He’s the big guy with the big German accent.”
Lothar and June have a shop in Purcellville, VA, where all the sausages and meats are produced. “It’s a typical Mom & Pop shop. You know, the local butcher,” says June. Though there’s nothing typical about Lothar or his sausages. “He’s an artisan.”
Lothar brings forty kinds of brats and smoked meats to the market each week. He loves getting out in the fresh air, talking with enthusiastic customers, and taking the time to answer their questions.
When asked what makes their business unique June says, “It’s Lothar’s personality as much as it is the sausage. He’s so full of life.”
