Well, our friends at Local Sixfortyseven did not win the title of America’s best food cart from Good Morning America. That distinction went to Marination, the food cart in Seattle that serves spicy pork tacos. But Local Sixfortyseven’s customers know who the real winners are!

You can see the video documenting this miscarriage of justice if you must. Meanwhile, we’re proud of Derek and Amanda for being a finalist. And thanks to Tisha, the Smart Markets Centreville customer who nominated them.

As you might know by now, our friends and vendor Local Sixfortyseven is a finalist to be named America’s best food cart on ABC’s Good Morning America. A segment on the show this morning featured proprietors Derek and Amanda Luhowiak, along with three other carts from around the country. The show’s anchor proclaimed Local Sixfortyseven’s burger the best burger he’s ever eaten.

Now we need you to go to GMA’s website and cast your vote for Local Sixfortyseven. Show your support for local and sustainable eating! The winner will be announced on tomorrow’s GMA (7-8 a.m. ET on ABC).

Go Derek and Amanda!

ABC’s GMA Weekend is having a contest for the country’s best food cart, and we’re proud to report that one of our vendors, Local Sixfortyseven, is a top contender! They’re one of four carts vying for the title, and as a result GMA will be filming them this Friday, Nov. 13, at Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane, Virginia.

Derek and Amanda of Local Sixfortyseven want a big crowd for this special occasion. So if you’re a fan of their food, head to Barrel Oak Friday the 13th at 10 a.m. and show your support. Take your friends, too — the bigger the crowd, the better.

Here are directions to Barrel Oak. Good luck, Local Sixfortyseven!
